AJ brings over 14 years of industry experience to the role, where he works closely with Kevin Hess, Vice President of Land Development, a seasoned industry veteran with 25 years with JCCG.

As the new Director of Preconstruction and Land Development at Jim Chapman Construction Group, AJ Colasurdo plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and synergy across multiple crucial areas. He leads the preconstruction, estimating and project management teams, ensuring they are well-equipped to effectively manage the pursuit, preconstruction and procurement phases. In addition, he facilitates the coordination of project managers, site designers and permitting processes with internal departments and external partners such as contractors, surveyors, engineers and government agencies. His primary focus is on maintaining budgets, schedules, quality standards and implementing robust risk management strategies.
Furthermore, Colasurdo is instrumental in strategic decision-making, working closely with the acquisition team to develop final entitlement and development schedules essential for underwriting proforma and final approval memos. He oversees the procurement process, ensuring the selection of the right subcontractors, evaluating bids and negotiating contracts to ensure the availability of necessary resources for successful project execution.

Colasurdo is already involved in significant projects such as Nestledown Farms in Huntsville, Ala., Perimeter Road in Dawsonville, Ga., and the Cottages at Wildwood in Wildwood, Fla.
