Jim Chapman didn’t start in BTR. He started building custom homes in Buckhead, Alpharetta, and the mountains of Highlands, NC — one at a time, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and client trust. That foundation shaped everything JCCG would become.
In 2005, Jim recognized a shift in how Americans wanted to live. He founded Jim Chapman Communities to serve the active adult market, pioneering the lock-and-leave lifestyle community across the Southeast. Over the next decade, he delivered master-planned communities built around resort-style amenities, low-maintenance living, and a sense of belonging — long before those ideas became industry trends.
By 2017, a new opportunity had emerged. The Build-to-Rent sector was accelerating, and institutional investors needed a ground-up construction partner with the regional expertise, process discipline, and accountability to execute at scale. Jim founded JCCG to be exactly that.
Today, JCCG operates across six Southeastern states and Indiana, with a team built specifically for institutional-grade delivery: pre-construction through vertical construction, lot development through amenity buildout, and now fee-build services for investors who want JCCG’s expertise on their own projects.
