AJ COLASURDO, DIRECTOR OF PRECONSTRUCTION, LAND DEVELOPMENT
AJ grew up in Marietta, Georgia, before graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Prior to joining Jim Chapman Construction Group, AJ spent 14 years honing his skills as a Landscape Architect at a civil engineering firm. In his current role, AJ’s responsibilities span across Land Acquisition and Due Diligence, where he identifies and acquires suitable land parcels for development. He participates in the site selection analyses and oversees the due diligence process, ensuring that environmental studies, zoning analysis, geotechnical surveys, and utility access are thoroughly reviewed. AJ also manages negotiations and agreements for land purchases, collaborating closely with legal and financial teams to finalize contracts and secure favorable terms. In addition, he plays a pivotal role in Pre-Construction Development Planning, overseeing project plans from acquisition through pre-construction, ensuring alignment with company objectives. He coordinates budgeting, scheduling, and scope development, while managing zoning and permitting processes to secure necessary approvals. AJ also works closely with local government agencies, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that development plans meet market demands, financial goals, and regulatory standards.
